Tidal Forces

"Tidal Forces" (2022) is a site-specific 5 minute and 20 second silent video commissioned by the Corpus Christi Port Authority in Corpus Christi, Texas through the Weingarten Art Group.

The video is displayed on a system of three monitors that wrap around a rectangular column creating a total of 7 feet and 7 inches high by 41 feet and seven inches of screen space (shown left). Using digital technology, I blend video material shot in a smaller format (1920 x 1080 pixels) into a large-scale video tapestry (6688 x 1216 pixels). A still from this video is shown above. The footage includes my original recordings of marine water from Galveston to Brooklyn as well as animated and manipulated stills* from the NASA.
