ASSIGNMENT THREE

Copy the following drawing (this should have been started in class).

Woman Strolling, about 1884, Conté crayon on Michallet paper (Source: JPaul Getty Museum)

You will copy this image, using a different color 'crayon.' Do not choose a color that would be confused with the original.

Along the right side of your image, add a vertical strip consisting of 10 in boxes (50 pixels square), in which you will illustrate the range of hues in your chosen crayon color.

Create a range of 10 values for the brown conte crayon used in this image. On a new layer, create a strip of 50x50 pixel square boxes (10 in all) vertically placed on the side of your canvas. Use the method in Exercise 1 to add percentages of white in 10% increments to the darkest brown.

Before you print your image, make sure you turn off the layer of the original image.
