SURREALISM
ASSIGNMENT SIX (DUE FEBRUARY 22 BY 4PM, IN MY MAILBOX)
2 PRINTS DUE
Five digital files (color and/or black and white) you will need to before
you begin:
1 photograph of yourself
1 photograph of an animal you admire (may be taken from magazine and if the
resolution is high enough, the Web).
1 photograph of an animal you dislike or fear (may be taken from magazine and
if the resolution is high enough, the Web).
2 different backgrounds: landscape, interior, urban, country, etc.
Create two portraits replacing your own head with that of an animal. Remember to create a believable yet fantastic composite using perspective, color, shadow, background, etc. Use TWO different backgrounds to evoke your relationship to the animal whose head has replaced your own.
Here are three examples showing surreal landscapes. Note the combination of different times of day to produce a seamless yet surreal effect.
